Our work Christmas party was scheduled for December 9th.
Little early but much anticipated.
After I look at the menu, I seriously considered not going at all.
Andina is fancy Peruvian restaurant. Lot of sea food, and most of the items on the menu were in Spanish. (assuming it's Spanish, not Portuguese. It very expensive restaurant. Leah have been there for drinks before and Nate was there for dinner. Both were impressed and strongly recommended to go for experience if anything.
Sonja and Justin offered to give me a ride, that seal the deal. With all shopping done the day before here I'm standing on 182nd and waiting for my ride. It was chilly evening, with a snow in the forecast.
I messed up the time and we arrive shortly before 6, find out that our reservation not 'till 6:30. Since it was cold outside we decide to sit at the bar. Very cool looking place. After our time arrive we were escorted downstairs where Juli, Dani, William, Dr. A, Melody already arrived. Long table, candles, dim lightning, very nice setting.
After everyone arrived, cheese and bread were served, along with some spicy salsa. Waiter walked around the table, getting all special dietary requested. I sat next to Justin, he's a GF free, and I'm sea and pork free.
My first course was purple potato with shredded chicken, avocado with aji amarillo.
Main entry was fancy roasted chicken with onions, sweet potato and quinoa. Olives, tomato and quail eggs. Chicken was very good. I haven't get a chance to try everything else, I'm sure it was good too, however I didn't want to try.
Last but not least was dessert. Cranberry/Rosemary ice-cream with mint tea. To be honest ice cream is to die for. My new favorite!!
Dr. Aanderud took time to give a little speech, about how wonderful to be with everyone and be a part of this wonderful team. Then he and Melody walk around the room and distribute presents, See's Candy and envelope with a card and letter and Visa card for $250.00!!! I was blown away.
Around 9 pm, after tea and coffee has been served and everyone had a chance to talk, we were first to get up, and everybody else as well. On the way home it was snowing.
Perfect ending to the perfect day.
